28 Birthday Traditions From Around the World

 John Green celebrated the anniversary of Mental Floss's video series by examining birthday traditions around the world. We make a wish and blow out candles on a cake, but while cakes are common, that’s not a universal custom. Some countries have other tasty treats, and a lot of places have customs involving smearing food on the honoree. I saved this video for my birthday!
